Founded in Cape Town in 1989 by Jackie Leone after an inspiring Italian exploration, Leo Foods has pioneered a unique speciality range of artisan-style products. Although inspired by Italian flare, we pride ourselves on being the South African market leader in this category.
Our primary focus at Leo Foods is masterfully crafting desserts and confectioneries and delivering value to through our carefully curated product range, designed specifically for food-service clients and high-end retail environments.
Our approach is one of consultation as we assist our clients’ with their specific needs for product and menu development as well as outsourced and trusted production. We work to build long-term partnerships with mutually beneficial results. Since it’s founding, the Leo Foods Bakery has developed into a modern, high-performance production facility, whilst retaining our dedication to quality products and family-focused passion and expertise. At the core of our local bakery are the traditional methods of artisan pastry production, which are still followed religiously in Italy today. We believe that process is as important as the ingredients when it comes to crafting fine quality confections. We pride ourselves on using only the finest quality ingredients whilst ensuring to keep all products as natural as possible.
Our dedicated team of bakers and production personnel have been carefully trained to craft the artisanal confectionery lines that Leo Foods is known and trusted for. We also ensure all team members are trained in personal hygiene and International food safety standards.

OUR FACTORY SHOP
The Leo Foods and Beverages Factory shop is a boutique bakery outlet based at the heart of Leo Foods – at our factory in Westlake, Cape Town. At the factory shop, customers can view and purchase (at factory prices) a variety of our fine confectionary goods, which are freshly produced by the on-site bakery. The variation and availability of products will constantly change due to the bakery’s schedule and it allows visitors the opportunity to view and enjoy some of the new innovations that we are crafting and experimenting with at Leo Foods and Beverages.
